3D printed parts, mechanical and electronic components

Stones seem hard and mute. They are persistent and durable. But if you listen carefully, you can hear a murmur; a soft and deep voice telling stories from bygone times. Stones are witnesses. They are patient reservoirs of information. If we write a book, they form a syllable.

Bed is a sound installation designed to be touched. Equipped with sensors, the stones of Bed store movements that affect them when they are held in the hands. They convert the motion impulses into frequencies, which are emitted again and can be felt and heard as vibrations. However, not only external stimuli, but also their own vibrations are registered by the sensors. This way, the kinetic memory of the stones is constantly rewritten by internal and external stimuli.
